Job description Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Machine Operator to join our team in a fast-paced packaging and cardboard manufacturing environment. The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment to ensure efficient production of high-quality packaging materials. This role requires a strong focus on quality control, precision, and equipment efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate packaging machinery and equipment according to specifications and production schedules.
Conduct pre-production checks and perform basic equipment adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
Inspect and maintain tooling and ensure proper alignment and calibration for each production run.
Perform continuous quality control checks throughout the shift, including verifying product size, scoring, slotting, printing accuracy, material integrity, and folding quality.
Monitor machine efficiency and product output to ensure production goals are met while minimizing waste.
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and communicate larger mechanical concerns to maintenance.
Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards.
Complete production documentation and quality control records accurately and on time.
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to support smooth production flow and resolve any production concerns.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or packaging environment (preferred in cardboard/corrugated packaging).
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing equipment setup and operation.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
Ability to read and interpret production work orders, diagrams, and quality standards.
Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on quality.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing/production floor environment.
Exposure to machinery noise and fast-paced operational demands.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
