Job description We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This position involves operating a sit-down forklift to move, load, and unload cardboard materials and finished goods throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment and a strong commitment to workplace safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a sit-down forklift to transport cardboard materials, pallets, and finished products throughout the warehouse and production floor.
Load and unload trailers, ensuring proper handling and placement of materials.
Move raw materials to production lines and transfer finished goods to staging or storage areas.
Perform daily forklift inspections and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Assist in shipping and receiving activities including staging, wrapping, and labeling pallets.
Accurately scan and track materials using inventory systems or paper documentation.
Follow all safety protocols and company policies related to forklift operation and material handling.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain prior to start).
Knowledge of safe forklift operation practices and OSHA standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Environment:
Indoor warehouse setting with some exposure to dust and machinery noise.
Fast-paced environment with varying temperatures depending on the season.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
