Under general supervision, this job consists of supporting production and engineering by setting up laser processing jobs and working with and running laser systems. Production lead works with engineering and management on developing new laser processes and evaluating and discovering new applications for lasers. Provide leadership for production team. Machining and micro-tooling for laser production. Production takes precedence over machining / tooling in order to meet customer needs.
Provide general support to production
Set-up production laser processes
Maintain a list of vendor contacts
Store and order tools and tooling
Investigate new laser systems and technologies
Miscellaneous special projects
Integrate lasers with motion control software
Leader and mentorship for Laser Techs and Operators
Make sure production employees are following the proper CRE (clean room environment) procedures.
Make sure production employees are following proper procedures for cleanliness, paperwork, quality control measurements, product handling, product packaging and other production related activities.
Train production personnel on all CER protocols.
Train production personnel on how to run jobs properly, on how to inspect jobs properly, on how to use the equipment properly and on how to startup and shutdown the equipment properly.
Make sure production employees are doing their work in a satisfactory manner and report any issues to the VP of Business Management or President.
Make sure production employees are doing a satisfactory amount of work for their shifts.
Make sure production employees are working the correct hours they are supposed to be and make sure they are taking their breaks for the appropriate lengths and at the appropriate times. Report any issues to the VP of Business Management.
Help schedule employee hours based on workload in order to get the product out to the customer on time.
Report any ideas for improving production processes, workflow, tooling or any other ideas for improvement to the VP of Business Management.
Make sure supplies are stocked properly and report any items that need to be reordered to the VP of Business Management.
Micro-Machining and tooling for laser production team
Maintain clean and organized workspace
Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment
Adhere to all safety policies and wear appropriate protective equipment
Develop and record new laser processes for R&D (research and development) jobs
Maintain and back-up electronic laser machine programs and file
Work on production floor as needed
Other jobs or tasks as assigned
