Ensure purchasing is meeting the requirements, ensuring that orders are placed in such a way that the effects of shipment delays and extended lead times are minimized. Expedite critical and/or late purchased components.
Assess, manage, and mitigate risk.
Assess current material availability, reasonably predict future availability based on market, delivery systems and other variables.
Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for raw materials, chemicals, products, and acceptable solutions.
Collaborate with Inventory Manager to develop and manage a safety stock program to protect against late delivery and inventory discrepancy.
Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for raw materials, supplies and chemicals.
Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
Negotiate and close deals with optimal terms.
Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demands.
Confirm orders have shipped as expected.
Reviews new product opportunities with Marketing and Sales.
Maintains records of all suppliers, contracts, and correspondence.
Active participant in a continuous improvement environment.
