Job Summary: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing and coordinating the shipping and receiving of products and materials. This role ensures that all shipments are processed efficiently and accurately while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The Shipping Clerk will handle various tasks related to inventory management, order fulfillment, and documentation.Key Responsibilities:1. Order Processing:o Review and verify shipping requests, purchase orders, and packing lists.o Prepare and process shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels.o Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate packing and labeling of items.2. Inventory Management:o Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or shortages.o Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation.o Update and maintain accurate records of inventory movements.3. Shipping and Receiving:o Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers and delivery services.o Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery.o Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.4. Customer Service:o Address customer inquiries related to shipping status and order fulfillment.o Resolve shipping issues and discrepancies promptly.o Provide exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction.5. Compliance and Safety:o Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations regarding shipping and receiving.o Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.6. Documentation and Reporting:o Maintain accurate and organized records of all shipping and receiving activities.o Generate reports on shipping activities, inventory levels, and order fulfillment metrics.Qualifications:· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.· Proven experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar role.· Familiarity with shipping software and logistics management systems.· Strong organizational and time-management skills.· Attention to detail and accuracy.· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.· Basic knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a warehouse or shipping environment.
