Shipping Supervisor – Now Hiring! Position Summary:The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations, ensuring all outgoing shipments are accurate, timely, and compliant with company and customer requirements. This individual will lead a team of shipping associates, collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments, and drive process improvements for increased efficiency and safety. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise shipping team, including logistics coordinators, training, and performance management
Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment—picking, packing, and labeling
Coordinate with Warehouse Manager and other departments to prioritize shipments
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with inventory control to prevent shortages or overages
Maintain detailed shipping documentation, including tracking, confirmations, and discrepancy logs
Communicate with carriers and vendors to arrange pickups, resolve issues, and negotiate rates
Prepare shipping reports; identify trends and improvement opportunities
Lead regular team meetings and safety discussions
Participate in the creation of standardized work instructions
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and internal quality standards
Submit a minimum of 6 continuous improvement ideas annually
Education & Technical Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in supply chain/logistics preferred
Minimum 3 years of shipping/logistics experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and industry regulations
Proficient in warehouse systems, shipping software, and Microsoft Office
Demonstrated understanding of IQMS systems including inventory, pick tickets, work orders, and reporting
Soft Skills & Development Expectations:
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
Required: Minimum of 32 hours of professional development training per year (on/off-site)
Must complete assigned leadership and warehouse-related courses (e.g., Fred Pryor, Lean Manufacturing)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the facility
Exposure to manufacturing environment (noise, dust, heat, cold)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Safety glasses and other PPE may be required
