Job SummaryThe Machine Operator sets up, operates, monitors, and performs basic maintenance on manufacturing equipment. The role involves inspecting products for quality, troubleshooting minor machine issues, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring production goals are met while following all safety procedures. Key Responsibilities
Operate forming, printing, slitting, die-cutting, or folding carton machines.
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
Perform minor machine maintenance and clear equipment jams safely.
Load raw materials into machines.
Inspect products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality standards.
Report quality issues or equipment problems to supervisors.
Read and follow production work orders and manufacturing instructions.
Keep the production area clean and organized.
Operate material-handling equipment when required.
Follow all company safety, food safety, and housekeeping procedures.
Assist other operators and production staff as needed.
Work overtime or rotating 12-hour shifts when required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Manufacturing or machine operation experience is preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and follow written instructions.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
Stand for most of the work shift.
Lift up to 30–40 pounds regularly and heavier items occasionally.
Frequently bend, twist, reach, squat, and kneel.
Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Use hands continuously for machine operation and product inspection.
