SMT Machine Operator – 2nd ShiftPosition Summary The SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring SMT equipment used in the production of printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role ensures components are accurately placed, equipment operates efficiently, and products meet established quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Essential ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation
Set up, operate, and monitor SMT production equipment.
Load feeders with electronic components and verify proper placement.
Perform machine changeovers and basic equipment adjustments.
Monitor production runs to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and notify maintenance or supervisors when needed.
Quality Control
Inspect printed circuit boards for proper component placement and solder quality.
Perform visual inspections throughout the production process.
Identify, document, and report defects or non-conforming products.
Follow quality standards, work instructions, and production specifications.
Production Support
Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Replenish materials and components as needed to support production.
Assist with inventory and material handling within the department.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S principles.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Qualifications
Previous SMT machine operation or electronics manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment is a plus.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documentation.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Basic computer skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand movements.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Overtime may be required based on production demands.
