Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations within a dynamic distribution environment. This role is essential in ensuring efficient inventory control, streamlined logistics, and safe handling of materials. Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
Lead and manage warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring high levels of productivity.
Implement and maintain inventory control procedures using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software such as AS400.
Coordinate logistics activities with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimize distribution center operations.
Supervise the operation of material handling equipment including forklifts and RF scanners to ensure safe and efficient movement of goods.
Develop and execute process improvement initiatives utilizing lean management principles to enhance workflow efficiency.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety protocols across all warehouse activities.
Monitor inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
Manage shipping and receiving schedules, ensuring timely dispatches and deliveries.
Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, documentation, and communication purposes.
Support heavy lifting tasks with mechanical knowledge of materials handling equipment when necessary.
Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions and support audits related to warehouse operations.
Requirements
Proven experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles within distribution centers or e-commerce fulfillment environments.
Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, inventory control systems, and logistics operations.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software (such as AS400), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Hands-on experience operating forklifts, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment.
Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and communicate managerial expectations effectively.
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for warehouse safety compliance.
Mechanical aptitude for understanding materials handling equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily responsibilities.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and documentation.
Knowledge of lean management principles for process optimization.
Effective communication skills suitable for managing teams and coordinating with external partners such as 3PL providers.
